Purpose and scope
Blink provides blink and distance-break reminders. It does not use a camera, detect whether you actually blink, or provide medical diagnosis or treatment. This policy covers Blink on Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and its widgets.
Trials and purchases
Blink uses Apple StoreKit to read and verify trial and lifetime-unlock transactions to determine feature access and trial expiry. Apple processes payments; Blink does not access payment card details. The paired iPhone sends access status and trial expiry to Apple Watch through Apple WatchConnectivity. The watch retains that status for offline use. The developer does not upload purchase information to a developer-operated server.
Data on your device
The app stores reminder preferences, session start and end times, reminder events, device type, and a randomly generated installation identifier for timing, history, and identifying the device that owns a session. This is not an advertising identifier. Widgets read daily summaries and session state through the same App Group.
iCloud sync
When iCloud is available, Blink uses Apple CloudKit private databases to sync preferences, completed sessions, and reminder events, including the installation identifier described above. Data is associated with your Apple Account and is not published to a public database. Active sessions are managed by the device that started them. Local reminders remain available without iCloud. Apple services are subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
Permissions and third-party services
iPhone and Apple Watch use local system notifications with your permission. Blink does not access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, or HealthKit. It includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK and does not use data for advertising tracking. This version has no developer-operated data collection server.
Retention, deletion, and controls
Data is retained for settings and history without automatic expiry in this version. Deleting a session in iPhone history syncs a deletion marker; this hides the session but does not immediately erase cloud records or related reminder events. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily remove iCloud data. You can manage notification and iCloud permissions in system settings and manage iCloud storage where the system offers that option.
Contact and changes
If you contact support, the email address, description, or attachments you provide will be used to address your request. Do not send Apple Account passwords or unnecessary personal information. This policy will be updated when data practices change.
